Marketing Quick Tips for Attorneys: 5 Ways to Create Website Content

Quick Tips offers attorneys marketing ideas that can be completed in less than 30 minutes.

5 Ways to Create Content for Your Law Firm Website

Generating content for your website is easier and less time consuming than you think. When attorneys think of website content, they often think of articles, newsletters and client alerts. This content is important to establishing yourself and your firm as thought leaders but it is also time consuming to research and write.  The good news is that there are other types of content that lawyers can use to update their websites.

Here are 5 quick and easy ways to keep your website content fresh and up to date.

1.  Post Events, Seminars, Conferences & Networking Events

If you are speaking at an event, attending a conference or come across an interesting seminar, post it on your website. Your clients will see that you are staying up to date on the issues and they may also be interested in attending the events. See the Interesting Events page on my blog as an example.

2.  Link to Relevant Industry News Stories

Include links to relevant news stories, trade publication articles and blog posts. You can include a brief summary explaining why it is interesting to your target audience. Or if you are really strapped for time, you can just include the title of the story and a link. Again, this demonstrates to your clients and prospects that you are up to date on the issues.

3.  Promote Your Sponsorships

Attorneys are constantly asked to sponsor industry, civic and charitable events. Let people know when you sponsor an event even if it isn't related to your practice. It helps people see you are active in your community.

4.  Applaud Your Clients' Achievements

If your client is celebrating their 25th year in business or if they have opened a new office, congratulate them with a shout out on your website. Confirm with the client before you post anything to your website. More likely than not, they will appreciate the publicity.

5.  Update Your Bio Page

Attorney bios are the most looked at sections of law firm websites. When was the last time you updated you bio? This Marketing Quick Tip will give you some suggestions on how to update your bio.
